Steel Magnolias

This week, I've been reflecting on what it means to be strong as a woman that follows Jesus.

I was reading this article. Mary A. Kassian shows how:

"God does not want you to be a weakling. He wants you to be a steel magnolia: a soft, feminine woman with fire in your belly, courage in your heart, and steel in your spine. He wants you to have the strength to say no to what’s wrong, and yes to what’s right, and to live your life — as a woman — for the glory of Christ. Strong as a woman. The right kind of strong."

I've been thinking on the image of a steel magnolia and I like it! The idea of fire in my belly, courage in my heart, steel in my spine, with a strong sense of right and wrong. This really speaks to me.

I pray you feel strengthened in Him this week.

Let's pray:

Dear Lord,

Grant me strength, O God. In moments of weakness, be my fortress. Fill me with confidence in Your love and assurance in Your purpose. May Your strength empower me to face each day with faith and courage. In Your name, I pray.

Amen.
