This week, I've been reflecting on this from UCB's Word for Today:
When you know that what you want lines up with God’s will, be bold and know that you will eventually succeed. ‘Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him’ (1 John 5:14-15 NKJV). When your confidence is ‘in Him’, your success is assured. When you know that what you want is what God wants, you can move forward in strength.
Isn't that incredible? When we know what we want lines up with God's will, we can be assured. We can have confidence. We can move forward in strength.
You might know the etymology of 'confidence'.
Etymology. From Middle English confidence, from Latin cōnfīdentia (possibly via Old French confidence), from cōnfīdō (“believe, confide in”) from con- (“with”) + fīdō (“trust”).
We can literally move forward 'with faith' - with 'confidence'.
Let's Pray Together:
In the midst of life's challenges, we humbly come before you, seeking the strength that only You can provide. Lord Jesus, we thank you for being our rock and fortress, our source of confidence and assurance.
Grant us the unwavering faith to trust in Your plan, even when the path ahead seems uncertain. May we find assurance in Your promises, knowing that Your love and grace are steadfast and unchanging.
Empower us with the confidence to face each day, knowing that we walk hand in hand with You. In moments of doubt, lift our spirits and remind us of Your presence, for in You, we find our strength.
Help us to be strong in the face of adversity, knowing that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. May we draw upon the reservoir of courage that flows from our faith in You, knowing that with You, all things are possible.
Lord, fill our hearts with the assurance that we are loved beyond measure and that nothing can separate us from Your love. May this confidence in Your unfailing love be a beacon of light, guiding us through the storms of life.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.
